Annual Season of Dance is a highlight for visitors during a Jamaica vacation

The program, from July 29 to August 28, features dancers, singers and musicians who weave music with contemporary and classic dance from the traditions of Jamaica, Africa and the American South. Performances take place at The Little Theatre in Kingston.
Now in its 49th year, the dance troupe began in 1962 to celebrate Jamaican culture when they country gained its independence.
The annual dance program is one of many productions that visitors on a Jamaica vacation can see at The Little Theatre and its companion site, The Little-Little Theatre, which features family-oriented comedy shows.
Seating in the smaller theater accommodates about 150 theater goers and capacity in the main venue is for about 600 guests. There is a small canteen where visitors may purchase refreshments.
The Little Theatre is the resident theater of both the National Dance Theatre Company and the Pantomime Company, which began in 1985. The pantomime shows include singing and dancing as well as stilt-walking, puppetry and acrobatics.
