Movie buffs can enjoy a special film festival in Las Vegas

Travelers heading out on a Las Vegas vacation have plenty of entertainment options to choose from. Those who enjoy theater can see a number of exciting stage productions, shoppers can spend their dollars up and down the Strip and movie buffs can head to the Las Vegas Film Festival, which takes place this summer.
Located at the Las Vegas Hilton, the affair will feature work by both professional and emerging talents, to later be assessed by a jury panel for a variety of awards.
"Our mission is to bridge the gap between independent film audiences and filmmakers … with established industry professionals," the event's website states. "The Las Vegas Film Festival offers a creative outlet to some of the film world's best storytellers and innovators."
From screenings of animation and short films to music videos, documentaries and more, there will be something to pique the interests of visitors form all walks of life. Other events will include filmmaker receptions, discussions and workshops.
The Film Festival will take place on July 15 through 17.
